THE SUNSHINE STATION RAILWAY DISASTER
On the night of Easter Monday, 20 April 1908, 44 people died as a result and over 400 injured when a Melbourne-bound train from Bendigo collided with the rear of a mail train from Ballarat, which was just leaving the station. Around 1,100 people were aboard the two trains. Almost all of the casualties were from the Ballarat train, as the Bendigo train was cushioned by its two locomotives.

Manager of Kalizoie. Died at the scene.

Son of Thomas Bunyard and Emma (Cobb) Bunyard of West Ashford, Kent, England. Engaged to a Miss Hamilton.

THE FUNERALS
. . . The funeral of the late Mr. Stuart Ormonde Bunyard took place from 4 West-bourne-terrace, St. Kilda, the residence of Mrs. Hamilton, to whose daughter the deceased had been engaged, the remains being buried in the Oakleigh Cemetery. The late Mr. Bunyard had no relatives in Australia, and the funeral was attended by his fiancee, and other private friends and by fellow-employees. The service was conducted by the Rev.
