Willard was born April 19, 1926, in Washington County, Indiana, the son of the late Seymour and Anna Ritchey Casey.
He married M. Evelyn Stewart on November 29, 1947, in Austin, Indiana, and she survives.
Willard was an Elder at Jonesville Christian Church where he loved every opportunity to serve the Lord. He worked at Cummins Engine Company for over 40 years as a machine repairman until his retirement. He served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1947 during WWII on the LST713 in the Pacific including the landing at Iwo-Jima. He was a member of the local VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He had a passion for listening to and playing bluegrass music. He liked fishing and hunting, especially coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Donna C. (Stephen) Lawyer; his son, Darryl R. (Jackie) Casey; one grandchild; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Casey; and two sisters, Harriet Myers and Helen Spaulding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Lenard, Amos, Melvin, Charles and Irvin Casey; and a sister, Virginia Linn.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015 at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Doug Redford and the Rev. Stan Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Voss Chapel.
