Charles D.Henderson, Soul winning servant of God, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Friend, and Employee, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Whispering River Adult Care in DeWitt at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel. Pastor Ric Shaull will be officiating with burial to follow in Laingsburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Charles was born March 5, 1929 in Newberry, Michigan to the late Charles and Inez (Monk) Henderson. On July 11, 1952, he married Doris Ann Ware in Sanford, Michigan and together raised 5 children. In 1959, Chuck began his career working for CATA, first washing buses and then becoming a Diesel Mechanic for the company, retiring in 1990 after 31 years.

Mr. Henderson was a longtime member of Mount Hope Church in St. Johns. He loved the Lord and sharing God's word with others. Charles enjoyed singing gospel music and had a soft spot in his heart for children. A true gentleman, he was there to help anyone in need. Charles always put 100% into everything he did, eternally a kid at heart. He had an unmatchable spirit of forgiveness. Charles enjoyed being part of helping build small churches, fishing, and doing anything with the family. He was dearly loved by his children, grandchildren, siblings and Church families.

Mr. Henderson is survived by 4 children: Sharon Rocha, Paul Henderson, Nancy (Ray) Fletcher, Mary (Kurt) Hoard; daughter-in-law, Sue Henderson; grandchildren: Danny (Kelly) Henderson, Heather and Nicole Henderson, Donna Lehman, James (Theresa), Jeffery (Teddi) and Hannah Hoard, Raymond (Casie) Fletcher; 16 great grandchildren; sisters: Melvina (Richard) Fridline and Irene Flinn-McIntyre; brother, Richard (Delynn) Henderson; his wife's siblings: Richard (Joyce) Ware and Eleanor Moreno.

He was preceded in death by his son, William; siblings: Ted, Moe and Danny Moreno, Clarence (Dorothy) Henderson and Milton Flinn; son-in-law, Joe Rocha; sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Roy) Neilson and Della Duvall and brother-in-law, Charles Ware.
