Major League Baseball Player. He was a pitcher for fourteen seasons with the St.Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies. A member of the National League All-Star team four times (1957, 1958, 1960 and 1963), his best season occurred in 1964 when he notched 24 victories. Jackson will be remembered by many as one of the players (along with Bob Buhl) traded by the Cubs in 1966 to the Phillies in exchange for future Hall of Fame pitcher Ferguson Jenkins. In 558 career games Jackson won 194, lost 183, pitched in 3,262.2 innings, with 1,709 strikeouts and a 3.40 lifetime ERA.
