Mr. Alexander was a native of Virginia. His widowed mother moved to Millville, Missouri where he recieved his primary education. He attended Central Missouri College and qualified for law practice. He taught school in Tennessee, Arkansas, St. Louis and Nebraska City, nine years. He removed to Alexandria, Calhoun county, Ala., in 1897. He was engaged in the hardware business in Anniston, Ala., until 1902, then became engaged in the farm loan and supply business in that city.

He was married in Anniston, July 28, 1898, to Mrs. Sarah Louise Fulenwider Lloyd Cooper, widow of the late W. P. Cooper and Joseph Robert Lloyd. Olin was a member No. 443, Anniston lodge, Free and Accepted Masons; past chancellor, Anniston lodge, No. 91, Knights of Pythias, Anniston chapter, Royal Arch Masons, No. 105; member Blue Mountain lodge, No. 96, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a Woodman of the World.

He died Aug. 31, 1930 in Tampa, Florida. He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. He was survived by his wife, a step daughter and a sister.
