A Deeply Loved and Cherished Mother of Four Devoted Daughters, Three Wonderful Sons-in-law, and Seven Treasured Grandchildren
...

Diane Marie (Parker McCann) Miller, former resident of Palo Alto and Sonora, California, passed away Friday, Aug 7, 2015 after courageously journeying seven years with advanced stage Ovarian Cancer and, lately, being lovingly cared for by Tinky Whittington, hospice nurse, Cabarrus County, and the entire staff of Liberty Lane, the Salisbury VA Medical Center's hospice house.

Diane was born in Los Angeles in 1944 while her father, Allan Parker, was stationed overseas in the Merchant Marines. She graduated Oakland High School in 1962 and enlisted in the Air Force as Medical Corpsman in 1963. Her lifelong interest in photography turned into 23 years of Diane Miller Photography and led to many proud adventures, including the Palo Alto Fire Department's Centennial Calendar, Public Relations for the National Liberty Ship Memorial for the SS Jeremiah O'Brien in San Francisco, and Public Relations for the Durham, NC Red Cross.

Diane recently enjoyed researching genealogy with her daughters and cousins, meeting and bringing together distant family members. We will remember our mother for her beauty, her individual style, and her passion for the Arts. She was a skilled artist of painting, drawing, singing and writing. She was a devoted daughter to Elizabeth Hugel, age 94, and beloved Nonni to seven grandchildren whom she adored. With all of our love forever, daughters, Holly Bretschneider, Kathleen Quevedo, Jennifer Thompson, and one more devoted daughter.

Sincere appreciation goes to Father Peter L. Fitzgibbons, Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Albemarle, NC, and the Reverend Nancy Cox, All Saints Episcopal Church, Concord, NC, for their loving support and guidance.

A private ceremony was held at the All Saints Episcopal Church, in Concord, NC where Diane's cremains were returned to the earth; buried in the peaceful Memorial Garden.
