Jessie Robinson Heiskell, of Morgantown, died Wednesday (July 26, 2006) at Mon Pointe in Morgantown.
She was born in Preston County, a daughter of the late Albin and Martha Teets Robinson.
She was a graduate of Masontown High School, attended West Virginia University, and received a post graduate degree in nursing from the Cleveland Clinic. Jessie worked as an RN for the Cleveland Clinic, was director of nursing at Heiskell Memorial Hospital, and retired from Mon General Hospital.
She was a member of the Susan Cook Alumni and was also a member of the Chancery Hill Historic District Society. She attended Westover United Methodist Church.
Jessie enjoyed bowling and basketball and was a Girl Scout and member of the 4-H in her early years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and was an avid card player.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Winnie Wildman of Morgantown; and a stepson, Neil Heiskell of New York City; nieces, Diane Richardson Oliva of Morgantown and Win Bouse of Florida; nephew, Robert Robey of Irwin, Pa.; and two other nieces and one nephew in California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. Frank Heiskell; ste-son, Dr. Edgar Frank Heiskell; two brothers, Hobart Robinson and Byron Robinson; three sisters, Mildred Robey, Flossie DeVault, and Helen Richardson; a nephew, Billy Livengood; and a niece, Helen Jo Shaffer.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
