Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Edward Lloyd Norment, 56, widely known Birmingham business man, who died Tuesday morning. Services were held at the residence, 3602 Cliff Road, with the Rev. John C. turner officiating. A native of Berkely, AL., Mr. Norment was educated in Huntsville, AL. schools. He was mortgage risk examiner in the Alabama office of the Federal Housing Administration in Birmingham. Formerly, he was Vice president of the Alabama Home Building and Loan association, and Vice president of the Alabama Home Trust Company. He was a member of the Redstone Club, and of the Birmingham country Club. he was an active worker in the church of the Advent, of which he was also a member. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary Norment; five daughters, Mrs. W.W. Williams, III of Old Hickory, TN; Mrs. R.B. Sample, Birmingham; Mrs. Stanford Young Smith, Jacksonville, FL; and Miss Dorothy and Miss Lloyd Norment, both of Birmingham; a grandson, William W. Williams IV; a brother A. R. Norment, Birmingham and two sisters, Miss Leila Norment and Mrs. Susie Jones, both of Birmingham. Burial was in Elmwood, with Ridout in charge.
