PINEDALE—Funeral services for William E. “Bill” Williams were Wednesday, April 13, at the Chapel of the Pines, Hudson Funeral Home in Pinedale with the Rev. Harold Asire officiating.
Burial was in the Pinedale Cemetery with military graveside services by Post No. 4801 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Williams, 74, of Pinedale died at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Saturday, April 9, following a lengthy illness.
Born on the Big Sandy in Sublette County, Sept. 9, 1913, Williams was one of nine children of Henry and Maude (Huff) Williams.
He ranched at the head of Flaming Gorge for 30 years before selling the ranch in 1959. He moved to Pinedale in 1960 and worked for Sublette County Road Department and the maintenance department of the town of Pinedale. Williams also owned and operated the Teton Court for three and one-half years.
He married the former Mary Myers Dec. 23, 1954 in Rock Springs.
In addition to his wife in Pinedale, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Noreen and Joe Essert of Othello, Wash.; two granddaughters, Jody and Joleen Essert of Othello; four sisters, Jeanette Simkin of Rock Springs, Mabel Philbrick of Manila, Utah, Alma Golliher of Riverton and Ellen Richie of Boulder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
