MINERAL RIDGE - Bertha E. Breeze, 77, of 36 Locust St., Mineral Ridge, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 7 a.m. today at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Born July 22, 1892, in Newton Falls, a daughter of Llewellyn and Mary Ann Richards, she had been a resident of Mineral Ridge all her life.

Formerly a schoolteacher in the Mineral Ridge, McDonald, and Niles school systems, Mrs. Breeze was a member of the Church of Christ and had served as superintendent of the the primary department for over 40 years. She was also a member of Golden Glow Rebekah Lodge 608, a member of the Meander Grange and has served as secretary and lecturer and also was a seventh degree member of the Grange, the Meander Garden Club and a charter member of the Study Club. For many years, she was active in the 4-H Club at the local and county level. She was a past president of the Mineral Ridge PTA and was instrumental in the organization of the Mothers Singers. She had attended Ohio North­ern and Kent State Universities.

Her husband, Raymond, whom she married in 1919, died in 1937.

She leaves one son, Dr. Charles Hayden Breeze of Mineral Ridge and four sisters, Mrs. Edith Odell, of Austintown, Mrs. Margaret Campfield and Miss Sylvia Stephens, both of Niles, and Mrs. Rebecca Brook of Warren; a brother Hayden Stephens of Mineral Ridge and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Clergyman will be Mr. Joseph Fleshman and burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
