Services for Marion Curtis Sparks, 93, of 812 Highland Ave. were Monday, August 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery Chapel in Birmingham with Pastor Billy Harris officiating and Rideout Funeral Home in charge. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Sparks died Friday, August 25, 2000, in Eastaboga.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Williams Sparks; a step-son, Jim Williams of Anniston; a sister, Buena Crumpter of Americus, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Richard Phillips, Mark Sawyer, Bill Jones, Don Wiggins, Robert Eaves and Bobby Turner.
Born in Piedmont, Mr. Sparks lived much of his life in the Alabaster area where he was owner of Sparks Drug Store. He retired after serving as postmaster at Alabaster. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church in Spring Garden.
