Marriage:
In this city, on Tuesday 21st inst., by the Rev. Dr. Wainwright, J. K. Duer U. S. Navy, to Georgianna, daughter of Geo. Huyler, Esq., late U. S. Consul at Nassau, N.P., Bahamas.

Midshipman, 28 December, 1836. Passed Midshipman, 1 July, 1842. Master, 3 November, 1849. Lieutenant, 20 April, 1850. Died 14 June, 1859.

Lieut. John K. Duer, U. S. N., who died recently at Apalachicola, Fla., entered the Navy in 1836, was detailed for the Coast Survey service in 1855, and assumed the command of the survey log schooner Vixen in 1857. While in command of this vessel he discovered the new Apalachicola channel, east of Dog Island. For some years he has been subject to a disease of the hearth, which finally terminated his life. He leaves a widow and several children.
