Lelia Inez married Alonzo Carroll Lewis and lived in Cuba, AL until 1920 when they moved to Sylacauga, AL where AC Lewis turned ill and died in 1921 before my father, William V Lewis Jr was born. AC was buried in Cuba in unmarked grave until Rowena Lewis English (Norman's dau.) told us where he was buried and my father placed his headstone. Big Mother raised her large family with the help of my grandfather, Willie Vaughan, in Birmingham and 1 of her sons became a policeman and her daughter, Aylne, married a fireman named Jack Biddle. My father, Billy Jr., remembers his two uncles AC, jr known as Kakie and Leslie well, tough and fighters. AC was rumored to have killed a man in self defense in New Orleans but my grandfather brought him home. Lelia was a long time seamstress at Blacks Dept store in Bham. She lost a daughter, Minnie Inez, at tender age of two and they returned to Cuba to bury AC, Sr by his daughter when he died early in 1921.
