PORTVILLE - Joann R. Nelson, formerly of Woodlin Drive, died Thursday (Oct. 8, 2015) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Machias, following a lengthy illness.
Born July 15, 1939, in Farmersville, she was the daughter of John and Frances Feduski Moranski. On April 28, 1962, in St. Philomena's Roman Catholic Church, Franklinville, she married Lawrence Nelson, who survives.
Mrs. Nelson was a 1957 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy, Franklinville, and was employed as a secretary at St. Bonaventure University and the Graff advertising agency of Olean, each for several years. She loved her grandchildren, flowers, reading and her dogs.
Surviving besides her husband of Portville are two daughters, Patricia Nelson of East Aurora and Pamela (David) Frentz of Cattaraugus; a son, Lawrence (Anne) Nelson of Otego; four grandchildren, David and Emily Frentz, and Daniel and Patrick Nelson; and a sister, Mary (William) Forness of Key West, Fla.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Moranski.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellicottville.
