Helene was born Feb. 22, 1922 in Oxnard, CA, the only child of Charles and Iva Poplin Myers. She lived nearly all of her 93 years in Ojai, proudly carrying on her ancestors' legacy of ranching on Bonito Rancho.

She met Robert Hamm the summer of 1940 while vacationing with her family at Yosemite Park, where he was a seasonal park ranger. They married on April 12, 1942 in the Ojai Presbyterian Church. Robert preceded her in death.

She served her community throughout her lifetime in lots of ways. She was an accomplished genealogist and loved to share her knowledge with others. She made beautiful needlework and clothing, was know for the beautiful gardens and admired for her courage and willingness to speak her mind.

She is survived by a son and daughter and grandchildren who loved her dearly. A family graveside service was held Sunday, August 9th.
