Elizabeth Cook Jones of Birmingham, 92 years of age, passed away on August 28, 2012. Born February 15, 1920 in Fitzgerald Georgia she was the daughter of Esther Jane Hunter Cook and Charles Warren Cook. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of forty two years, Joe Allen Jones; her son, Joe Allen Jones, Jr. (Dru) and her brothers, Charles Warren Cook, Jr., Henry Hunter Cook and Arthur Frank Cook. She is survived by her sister, Mary Anne Cook Pickens (Walter). She is also survived by her children, Jan Jones Gilchrist (David) and Michael Craig Jones; her four grandchildren, Joe Allen Jones, III (Lindsay), Sally Elizabeth Jones, Michael Craig Jones, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Jones and step grandchildren, David Henry Gilchrist, Jr. (Jody)and John Michel Gilchrist (Marianne). She also leaves one great grandchild, Joe Allen Jones, IV and step great grandchildren, Margaret Shirley Gilchrist and David Henry Gilchrist, III.
