He was first married to Viola E. Beedy (1884-1967) on 24 March 1904 in Wright County, MN. They had four daughters and a son. They were divorced in 1923. He remarried and relocated to Ontario, Canada. He was then married to Claire Huset (1891-1976). They had one son. He died on 12 March 1968 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada at the age of 83. He was interred at Mountain View Cemetery.
