US Congressman. A graduate from Harvard University in 1787, he held many public offices and was a member of the Massachusetts State House of Representatives in 1809. He was elected as a Federalist to the Twelfth Congress, serving from 1811 to 1813. Returning home after his term, he served as Haverhill town clerk and as cashier of the Merrimack Bank of Haverhill from 1814 to 1836.
