Morton – Eileen L. Keenan, 88, of Morton, passed away at 8:33 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Peoria to Roy and Amy (Gardiner) Applegren. She married Robert E. Keenan on July 31, 1948, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2009. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Thomas) Grigsby of Morton and Janice (Gordon) Spark of Peyton, Colo.; one son, Patrick (Carol) Keenan of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Eileen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. She was a former member of the Pekin Country Club.
An avid painter, Eileen belonged to the Verla Martin Painting Group.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Further visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with Msgr. Gerald Ward officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
