Briggs, Arlene Mary Eckert Ely 84, of St. Louis, MO, died Monday, November 2, 2015, at Surrey Place in Chesterfield, Missouri. Born December 25, 1930, in Saint Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Myrtle and Wilbur Pieper. On July 7, 1970, she married David Jared Briggs in St. Louis. She was a Catholic who blessed our lives by her daily display of unconditional love, positive attitude, and inner strength. Survivors include four children from her first marriage to Eirvin Eugene Ely on September 1, 1950: Candace Ann Ely of Cape Girardeau, MO, Cathy Jean Ely of St. Louis, Evan Eugene Ely of Safford, AZ, and Carolyn Marie Ely Parham (John Randolph) of St. Louis, four grandchildren, and her first cousin, Robert Wallace (Jeannie) of St. Louis.
Burial will be at the Old Stonington Cemetery.
