Dorothy C. Stolz Zorger - B: Oct. 13, 1915 - D: March 11, 2012.
Dorothy C. Stolz Zorger, 96, The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Woodrow Wilson Gardens, Altoona, died Sunday at the home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ernest T. & Anna (Krieger) Grimminger. She was twice married, first to Alvin J. Stolz, who died on April 5, 1965, & then to John R. Zorger, who died on April 22, 1971.
Surviving are a son, John A. Stolz (Nancy) of Sinking Valley; two daughters: Carol A. Blake of Altoona & Janet M. Harris (George J.) of Flinton; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Grimminger Sr. of Sinking Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Donald F. Stolz and Paul L. Stolz; and a sister, Rosemary Grove.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. She volunteered for 17 years at Blair Senior Services and enjoyed bingo, word puzzles and cards.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor John Collins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Church of Christ, Juniata Gap and Good Shepherd roads, Altoona, PA 16601, in memory of Dorothy.
Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
