Actor. Born Keith Joseph Michell, he appeared in television and motion pictures, and famously played the role of "King Henry VIII" in two television productions. He got his first start in acting in the theater, working both in Australia and England before going into television and film. Michell's first television appearance was in 1951 on the television series "The Black Arrow" and he would go on to appear in numerous series and films such as "The Spread of the Eagle" (1963) and "ITV Play of the Week" (1959-1967) before making his most famous appearance in "The Six Wives of Henry VIII", where he played the burly English monarch. He earned a BAFTA and a Primetime Emmy for his role. Michell would go on to have other roles in television and film after this with his frequent appearances on the hit show "Murder She Wrote" as a "highlight". While in television and film, he still acted in various stage productions during his career.
