US Congressman. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1935 to 1937 as a representative from Oregon's 3rd Congressional District. Ekwall was a graduate of the Oregon Law school in Portland and served in the infantry during the First World War. He served as a municipal court judge in Portland from 1922 to 1927 and as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1940. He was appointed as a federal judge to the United States Customs Court in 1942, where he served in that capacity until his death.
