VERGENNES, VT. - John "Jack" R. Tynan, age 83, of Vergennes, passed away on Wednesday, November 25th 2015 in Burlington, Vt.

He was born on February 14th 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of H.A. Tynan and Theresa Marie (Schrack) Tynan.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from April of 1948 - January of 1978.

During that time he served in Korea and Four Tours in Viet Nam.

He was extremely proud of his service to his country, being decorated many times, including the Air Force Bronze Star.

After retiring in 1978, he worked with Brock Security, Allied Security, and South Burlington Police Department.

He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Club both in Vergennes, Vt.

Jack was predeceased by his wife; Shirley J. (Hagan) Tynan on July 3rd 2004, one daughter; Kelly Lee on March 6th 1959, and one granddaughter; Brandie Lee Tynan on March 1st 2001.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes, Vt.

Internment will be at the Vermont Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Vt. in the spring.
