She was the youngest of 3 children where here siblings knew her as "Tutty". Growing up she enjoyed the excitement of the big city and trips to Lake Geneva with her many cousins.
On January 21, 1956, Florence married Robert O. Johnson, whom she met in Chicago and was serving in the National Air Force during the Korean War. They lived in Chicago for 3 years while starting their family before moving back to Bob's hometown of Marinette, WI. For the balance of their lives they resided on Shore Drive overlooking the bay of Green Bay where they raised their five children.
Florence used her bookkeeping skills as she worked for Milwaukee Glove of Marinette and Campbell Bruce Oil of Menominee, MI.
While raising their five children Bob and Florence enjoyed making many trips to Chicago to visit her family. Florence spent her retirement with grandchildren, making trips to her cabin in Athelstane, WI and swimming at Newton Lake.
She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and vegetable garden, camping, and preparing for holiday meals.
Florence is survived by her 5 children: Patty Nitka, Robert Johnson Jr., Susan Johnson, Sandra (Jon) Drees, James (Jennifer) Johnson;
nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren;
sister Betty Klausing of Chicago;
brother Howard (Mary) Maskil,
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert O. Johnson
and her parents Howard and Frances Maskil.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
