Helen Agnes Curran DePrisco, 89, of Hopewell, Virginia passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015 with her loving family at her side.

Helen was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, the daughter of the late Francis and Nellie McHugh Curran.

As a military wife, she saw the world, even living as far away as New Delhi, India for a time before settling down in Virginia upon her husband’s retirement from the U.S. Army.

She was a kind, gentle, generous soul, whose faith and family meant everything to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her devoted husband of forty years, Leonard P. DePrisco who died in 1996.

Also, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Mary Ellen and Helen DePrisco; two brothers, Francis and Richard Curran; five sisters, Anne Curran, Catherine Thomas, Joan Goralski, Dorothy Wardell, Suzanne Donovan; and one daughter-in-law, Kathy DePrisco.

Survivors include her children, Leonard DePrisco (Lori) of Waverly, VA, Anne Bishop (Kyle) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Alfred DePrisco (Joyce) of Chester, VA; daughters-in-law, Gillian Dixon of Prince George, VA; and Tracy Jackson of Chester, VA; eleven grandchildren, Samantha, Tony, Andrew, Molly, Beth, Ian, Emma, Alex, Joey, Kathleen, and Shelby; and eight great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include her brother, Anthony Curran (Terese) of Lewisville, TX; four sisters, Margaret Moos (Marvin) of Newark, DE, Elizabeth Connor of Wilmington, DE, Marie Hare (William) of Peachtree City, GA, Rose Ewing (Larry) of Homestead, FL; brother-in-law, Richard Thomas of Pensacola FL; along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
