Born Emma Lee Brasuell in Van Buren, Ark., she was the first of eight children. She came West with her husband, A. W. Dannelley, and lived in Klamath Falls and Salem before moving to Portland in 1958. She was in direct sales of china, silver and cookware. She met Earl Hickman and they were married for 40 years until his passing two years ago. Emily loved shopping (she was always a snappy dresser), dancing, entertaining, cooking, playing pinochle, bridge, golf and watching Jeopardy. Emily is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Terry) and Teri (Steve); sons, Bob (Cammie), Don (Nancy) and Mark (Barbara); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grand- children; three brothers; one sister; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. A graveside service is sche- duled for 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, in Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity .
