St. Petersburg, Fla. - Alban Goshorn Snyder, 77, former U.S. Consul, died at his home here today following a brief illness.
A native of Charleston, W. Va., his remains will be buried there. Service will be here tomorrow and the body will be cremated.
Mr. Snyder was with the Consul from 1908 to 1947, when he retired. He served as consul to Columbia, Argentina, Panama, and Norway until 1926, when he was sent to Washington, D. C.
His parents were the late Charles Phillips and Jane Goshorn Snyder of Charleston, W. Va.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Doyle of Washington, D. C. and Miss Mary Jane Snyder of this city; two brothers, Harry V. Snyder of Charleston and Charles A. of Washington, D. C.; and two grandchildren.
The body will be sent to the Barlow-Bonsall mortuary in Charleston.
