RICHARD G. BURNETT, age 69, of Westerville, passed away Tuesday evening December 15, 2015 at St Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born on March 20, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Guilford M. Burnett and Hazel L. (Thiery) Burnett of Galena. He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School Class of 1964. He was a Chief Inspector for the Delaware County Engineer and retired in 2006 after 29 years of service.
Richard enjoyed doing genealogical family research, bass fishing and spending time with his family. Richard was a supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.
In addition to his mother he is survived by daughters: Ginny (Tim) Etienne of Canal Winchester, Rosalie (John) Graham of Westerville; step-daughters: Kathy (Jack) Slaven of Westerville, Christine (Larry) Dixon of Sunbury, Beckie (Tom) Gilbert of Galena, Connie (Jeff) Shields of Baltimore, Cathy (Michael) Bassani of Columbus, Kristin (Robert) Davis of Worthington; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; brother: David (Betty) Burnett of Columbus; sister: Paula (Richard) Baker of Cocoa, Florida.
Preceded in death by his first wife: Rosalie (Truax) Burnett in 1994; second wife: Barbara (Jarolimek) Burnett in 2013; step-sons: Joseph Moretti, Gerald Otterbacher; brother: Curtis Burnett.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Private graveside services will be held for the family in the Sunbury Memorial Park.
