Jacob Drennen was born at Harrison, Virginia, Aug. 7, 1833, and departed this life Dec. 26, 1917 aged 84 years, 4 months and 19 days. He was married to Rebecca F. Reynolds of Cordova, Ill. in 1858 and to this union were born three daughters, the youngest, Katherine, dying in infancy. His companion preceded him in death on May 14, 1913. Before coming to Soldier, Kansas, in 1894, the deceased had lived in Princeton, Iowa and Cordova, Ill. He enlisted in the 47th Ill. Infantry in 1864 and served until the war was closed. He leaves to mourn his loss his two daughters, Mrs. Oliver I. Reynolds and Mrs. Thomas Gilliland, four grand children and one great grandchild. He was a member of the Christian church, having united in Cordova, Ill. in the year of 1858 ….
