Mrs. Cynthia Copeland Boswell, widow of the Reverend James Iverson Boswell D.D. of the Newark Conference died at Norman Oklahoma January 27th, 1927 at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. John B. Cheadle, less than two months after her husband's death. Mrs. Boswell was born in Clarendon, New York, December 8, 1839. She graduated from Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, Lima, New york in 1862. From her marriage in the following year to their retirement forty six years later she shared in the fullest measure the various experiences of the itinerancy. all her gifts and accomplishments of mind and heart were consecrated to Christian service and the Woman's Home Missionary Society Conference was her favorite activity. She rejoiced in the character and ministry of her only son, the late Reverend George Copeland Boswell of the New York East Conference. Her grandchild, his daughter ministered to her to the last. Cynthia's interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Elizabeth New Jersey, February 8th. The service was conducted by Reverend H. E. Curts of Ocean Grove, N.J. and assisted by the two brothers of the deceased, Rev. R.W. Copeland of Hamburg New York and Rev. Benjamin Copeland of Buffalo N.Y. Two other brothers, Rev. John Alden Copeland of Rochester and Rev. Arthur Copeland of Auburn N.Y. had recently preceded their sister to their heavenly home.
