From Bartgis's Maryland Gazette and Frederick-Town Weekly Advertiser of Oct. 31, 1793:
"DIED-- on Monday last Mrs. Elizabeth Potts, the amiable consort of Richard Potts, Esq. a Lady in whom the embellishment of the mind added to the gracefulness of her person, rendered her sincerely beloved by all that had the happiness of her acquaintance, and her loss is equally regretted.
Beauty and youth, in vain alas! to those we trust,
When youth and beauty must be laid in dust!"
