American Basketball Player, Entertainer. He was known as the "Clown Prince" of the world traveling Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. He attended Florida A&M University, but was soon drafted into the United States Army, serving for two years. In 1954 Lemon applied to the Harlem Globetrotters and was accepted the next year. He would apply his comic artistry and basketball talent for the Globetrotters until 1980 when he left and formed the Bucketeers, a team he played for until 1983. Lemon played for a couple other touring teams until rejoining Globetrotters for fifty games in 1994. He was also involved in various television appearances (cartoons, television shows, and commercials) and other work in the entertainment industry throughout the years. In his later years, Lemon became an ordained minister and set up his own ministry in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
