Karla J. Nygren, 59, of Marinette, WI passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay, WI. She was born on July 29, 1956, to the late R. Robert and Susan (DePatie) Nygren in Marinette.

Karla graduated from Marinette Senior High in 1974 and attended Carthage College. She went on to serve her country in the United States Army. Karla was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Marinette Jaycees, where she was very active in and recognized for her involvement on both the state and national level. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and watching her granddaughters in the Crivitz Ski Cats.

Karla is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Nicholas) Smith of Marinette;
two brothers: Mark (Julie) and John (Maggie);
a sister, Susan (Mitzi);
grandchildren: Bryttnee (Nathan), Brietta, Brennan, Bryeli, Kaden,
and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Robert and grandson, Brayden Cyr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7th from 3 to 5 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be at 5 p.m. with Pastor Steve Haag officiating with Military Honors to follow. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
