Officer James Edgar Dyer, Jr. Officer Dyer passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, Officer Dyer was Born in Quantico, VA, on July 15, 1928. Officer Dyer retired after 34 years of service as an Atlanta Police Officer, where he helped organize, and served as president, for the Fraternal Order of Police. Officer Dyer is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bettie Jane Davis Dyer; son, Steve Dyer; step-children, Lester Shelby Jones (Vickie) and Christopher C. Jones (Debbie); grandson, Mike Dyer (Theresa) and great-grandson Michael Dyer. He was a loving Husband, father, and a dear friend to so many, he will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
