Beverly J. Lash, age 87, a longtime resident of Ferndale, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Southfield, Mich. She was born April 11, 1925 in Detroit to Frances Wells and Veryl Bachellor. She was raised in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada by her paternal grandparents, Dr. Frank H. Wells and Anna McLeod Wells; where she later met her future husband, Joseph Lash, while he was on a sailing trip on Lake Huron. Bev had an inner wisdom which came from overcoming personal challenges, and many sought her company and counsel about life's challenges and heartaches. She was kind, loving, accepting and non-judgmental of all. She loved the arts and volunteered at the Detroit Institute of Arts for many years. She played the piano and sang beautifully. She was a skilled writer and enjoyed taking college courses. Above all else, she adored her children and grandchildren who will miss her terribly. She is survived by children, Peter, of Port Huron, Leigh, Barbara (Lynn) Mueller and Gretchen (Tony) Baron; and grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Hannah, Caroline and Katie. Predeceased by husband, Joseph.
