Professional Football Player. Born in Deweyville, Texas, he later moved to Bremerton, Washington, and then to Renton, Washington. He attended Renton High School, where he played football. He excelled as an all-state running back, earned all state honors in track and field as well, and helped lead his school to the state basketball championship in 1960, a year before he graduated. After graduation he attended the Washington State University on a football scholarship as a two-way back, and became an All-American defensive halfback in 1964. That same year he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League, and played with them until 1972. He also played for the Washington Redskins in 1974, and the Florida Blazers of the World Football League before retiring in 1975. After his retirement, he worked for a bank and for the Los Angeles Times newspaper in there production department until 1984, when illness forced him to retire. Williams was a member of the NFL Alumni Association, and the NFL Players' Association. He passed away two days before his 44th birthday.
