Mrs. Sauls was born December 5, 1927 in Tift County and was the daughter of the late Alton and Annie Mae Spicer Hobbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Franklin Sauls, Sr., who died in 2005; three sisters, Josephine Hobbs Bailey, Ruby Hobbs and Doris Cox Brewer; a brother, A. J. Hobbs; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Jack and Carolyn Sauls and Rudy Cox.

Mrs. Sauls graduated from Tifton High School in 1944. She immediately began work at Southern Bell, where she was employed for 14 years. She left her career at Southern Bell to begin her family. After her children became school age, she became an active parent volunteer at Annie Belle Clark Elementary School. She later became a paraprofessional. She retired from the school system after 24 years. Even though she enjoyed her years at Southern Bell, her most cherished and rewarding years were those she spent at Annie Belle Clark. She loved children, and she enjoyed helping them learn. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she taught the pre-school Sunday school class for many years.

Mrs. Sauls loved her family and she enjoyed cooking for them. She thrived on family time spent around her kitchen table. She was a loving and devoted mother and never raised her voice or spoke a harsh word. She instilled love and compassion in her children.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her care-giver, Mrs. Randi Hess; Hospice of Tift Area and her Hospice nurse, Jill Booth and Hospice Chaplain, Landon Alberson for their loving support and gentle care.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Tifton's First Baptist Church, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794; or Hospice of Tift Area, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
