Theodosia Markenrynet (spelling?) Hauser was the youngest of nine known children of Samuel Thomas Hauser (1794-1865) and Mary Ann Kennett (1798-1887), who married 21 Mar 1822 at Pendleton County, Kentucky.

Theodosia married Edward Wones Knight (1838-1914) on 12 Apr 1859 at Falmouth, Pendleton County, Kentucky. Theodosia and Edward were the parents of eight known children, namely:

1. Theodosia Makenrynett Knight (1859-1886)
2. Edward Wones Knight (1861-1903)
3. Samuel Thomas Hauser Knight (1863-1931)
4. Ann "Annie" Wones Knight (1865-1867)
5. Stella Knight Nicholson (1870-1940)
6. Henry Walter Knight (1874-1938)
7. John Covington Knight (1880-1882)
8. Barbour Pratt Knight (1883-c1924)

In August 1860 Edward (listed as born Iowa, a farmer), and wife and daughter Theodosia were living at Falmouth, Pendleton County, Kentucky. In 1870 the parents (Edward listed as born Indiana) and Theodosia, and children: Theodosia, Edward, Thomas and Henry William Knight (1812-1874), born Indiana, retired, father of Edward), along with Mary Hauser (widowed mother of Theodosia) were living at Falmouth, Pendleton County, Kentucky. The family moved to Helena, Montana in 1873. Edward was later President of a bank there. In 1880 the parents and all the children except for Edward Jr. were living at Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana. Theodosia's nephew George Hauser Hill was living with them. In 1894 the parents were living at Helena Montana, with five living children: Edward W. (a bank teller at Helena), T. H. (a businessman in Helena), Stella (wife of Herbert Nicholson, a businessman of Helena), Henry W. (a student at a military academy in Missouri) and Barbour P. (still at home).
