OBITUARY EVA GRACE DOERFER: Eva Grace Doerfer, 104, of Florence, formerly of Penrose, died Aug. 23, 2002,
at St. Joseph Manor in Florence. She was born Feb. 28, 1898, in Springfield, Ill., to William and Amelia (Scutt) Stafford. Mrs. Doerfer had lived in Fremont county since 1948. She was a member of Beaver Park Friends Church in Penrose. She loved to crochet, quilt and read the Bible.
She married Fredrick William Doerfer on Sept. 19, 1914. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Doerfer is survived by five generations of relatives; children: Louise Hawks of Florence and Marjorie Atwood of Penrose; five grand children: Sandra (Frank) Sherwood of Canon City,Twila (Robert) Shoaf and Harry Atwood both of Pueblo, Ben (Susan ) Blark of Fernley, Neb. and Debbie Ardrey of Wiley; one sister, Hazel Wiggins of St Francis, Kan.; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. As well as her husband, she was also preceded in death by two children Ida Clark and Helen Doerfer, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Florence Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Florence Mortuary chapel, with Pastor Richard Kearns officiation. Interment will follow in Union Highland Cemetery in Florence.[williams1969.FTW]

She had lived in the Goodland, Kan., area and is now living at Mountain Vista Senior Care, Williamsburg, CO 81226. Eva had four daughters, of which two are still living - Louise Hawks and Marjorie Atwood of Penrose.
