Gregory Alan Vail passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at his home in Lake Stevens, Washington. He was born on Aug. 12, 1953 in Wenatchee, Washington and was 62 years of age. He lived on Bainbridge Island, Bozeman, Montana and then Lake Stevens.
Greg worked as an electrical engineer. He loved spending time fly fishing on the vast rivers available in Bozeman, Montana as well as spending time on his boat or jet ski on Lake Stevens. Greg was a devoted husband to his wife, Cheryl. He was a dedicated father who spent countless hours coaching softball and cheering from the sidelines of every soccer game. Greg also thoroughly enjoyed cheering on the Lake Stevens Vikings and attending as many of their sporting events as possible with his wife Cheryl. Without a doubt, Greg’s favorite role and pastime was being a grandpa to his granddaughters.
Greg is survived by his mother, Marla Vail of Bainbridge Island, Washington; wife, Cheryl Vail of Lake Stevens, Washington; brother, Mark (Mary) Vail of Silverdale, Washington; children, Allison Vail of Bainbridge Island, Washington and Anne (Stewart) Liley of Santa Fe, New Mexico; also his beloved granddaughters, Olivia and Maggie Liley. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Nicholas and Eric Kalata. He will be missed by his family and the many members of the Falk and Downing family. Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Lori Vail; and father, Floyd Vail.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend an Open House Celebration of Life 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at The Seabold Hall on Bainbridge Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bainbridge Island Little League, P.O.
