Myrtle was the daughter of John Shields and Mary Thomas. On 02 Jul 1909 she married Edward Ridge in Clark County, Indiana, and they had three children: George, William and Gladys. Myrtle died of a hemorrhage due to cirrhosis of the liver at St. Anthony Hospital at the age of 71.
