He is the beloved husband of the late Betty Moskat (nee - Dickinson); father of George Moskat, Jr., and Linda Lanning and her late husband Robert; grandfather of Stephanie Velasco and David Moskat; great grandfather of Andrew Velasco.
George was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia. He lived in the Feltonville and Burholme sections of the city prior to moving to Bucks County. George enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 26, 1942, served during World War II, and was honorably discharged from the service on December 4, 1945, after reaching the rank of Corporal. During his working career, George was the owner and operator of Moskat’s Auto Parts, located at 4501 Rising Sun Avenue in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia. In addition to his work, he was also active in the Marine Corps League, and in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 76 in Feasterville, PA.
Relatives and friends were invited to his graveside service on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lawnview Cemetery located at 500 Huntingdon Pike in Rockledge, PA 19046. At the conclusion of his graveside service, military honors will be rendered by members of the United States Marine Corps.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth L. Beale.
