He was born October 4, 1945, in Jacksonville, the son of Harold D. and Hazel Robinson Stice .
He married Debora "Debbie" Fryhoff on June 22, 1974, in Rochester and she survives.
He also is survived by a son, Brach Stice (wife, Jennifer) of Ashland; three grandchildren, Braxton, Lydia and Hazel Stice ; a brother-in-law, Randy Flinn (wife, Deb) of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Robin Edgar of Springfield; two nephews, Zach Flinn (wife, Kristen) of Ashland and Tim Flinn (wife, Colleen) of Pleasant Plains; and a niece, Stephanie Ballinger (husband, Mark) of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Robyn Stice Flinn.
Mark was a mechanical engineer with Illinois Bell for 40 years, retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, he assumed management of the family farm with his son. He also served on the Yatesville Cemetery Board for many years. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, sharing time with his family and friends, and celebrating the cocktail hour.
The family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Private family funeral services and burial will be Friday at Yatesville Cemetery, west of Prentice.
