Dennis T. Davoren, 89, of Palos Heights, died Wednesday, Jan 22. Mr. Davoren was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He retired as Vice President of Royal Crown Cola after a 50-year career with the company. He then began a second career working for the Cook County Sheriff's Department. He was a longtime member of the South Shore Country Club and the Irish Fellowship Club, and he served as President of the Illinois Food Retailers. His friends and family remember the annual St. Patrick's Day parties he hosted at the Kungsholm Restaurant where each guest was given a St. Patrick's Day gift. He also took great pride in marching in the Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade wearing his green derby.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; his son, Dennis "Buzz" Davoren; and his daughters, Carol Reger, Jane Wagner and Joan Barrett.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., Friday at Sheehy & Sons, 7020 W. 127th St., Palos Heights. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Incarnation Church at 9:30 a.m.
