Ruth McCrae “Mrs. Peck” was born in Butler, Georgia on February 8, 1923. The Lord said “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” and called her home December 31, 2015 at Mt Carmel East Hospital.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Her Love for God, family and friends was evident and shown daily throughout her life. Ruth loved helping and doting over her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and instilled this in her children. Ruth found her soul mate and partner when she married Levine McCrae “Mac” of Miami, Florida. Together they founded Tecks Cleaners and for the next 28 years provided high quality dry cleaning at their 3 locations.
Since her husband death 36 years ago, Mrs. McCrae has been active in several businesses, Fadra Cosmetics (CEO,) Original Founder Coming Home Celebration 1995. She was also Owner Operator of Ruth Care Group Homes. Mrs. McCrae also ran Trainer House a place for Parolees. While residing in Oakland, California, She ran a Meals on Wheels and was a Motivational Speaker at Laney College 1982. Mrs. Peck was Grandma to many and will be terribly missed.
Ruth is preceded in death by husband, Levine McCrae; mother Ressie Riley; father, Sanders Riley, and daughter, Shirley Faye Andrews; brothers, Thurman, Quiller and Eury Riley; sisters, Naomi Prater and Essie Porter.
