Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Nugent, 79 of Holum will be held 2:00 PM Thursday March 3, 2016 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Tannehill and Bro. Benny Braddock officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery at Holum. Vistation will be on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Willie Mae Cooper Sikes Nugent was born on November 30, 1936 at Holum, LA to the union of her parents William Thomas Cooper and Bessie Mae Beavers Cooper, and she passed from this life on Monday February 29, 2016 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following a brief illness. Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband: John Will Sikes, by her son: Tommy G. Sikes; her daughter: Patty Ann Hudson; by her brother: James Willis Sones and by her nephew: James Ronald Sones. She was a retired nurse, loved church singing and playing the upright bass guitar. She also loved sewing and knitting, growing flowers and reading books. She also loved Facebook which allowed her to visit with her family and friends on a daily basis.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband: Delton Lee Nugent of Holum, her sons: John Wesley Sikes(Cathy) of Clarks, Michael Wayne Sikes (Gay) of West Monroe, Dennis James Sikes and companion Joy Futrell of Holum, Hansford Lee Sikes of Holum and Bryan Nugent of Jena; her daughters: Faye Elaine Fathereee and companion Tino Gonzalez of Holum, Dena Louise Ponds (Rick) of Tullos, Betty Ann May (Jimmy) of Grayson and Janice Kay Sones (Jeff) of Holum; her sister: Elaine Hancock (Jerls) of Conroe, Texas; twenty grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include: Matthew May, Greg Simons, Andy Hailey, Michael May, Bryan Nugent, and Hunter Alford.
