He was later divorced and married twice more, also to non-royals. In 1951 his father's second cousin Charlotte of Luxembourg and her government there admitted Sigvard and his wife into their nobility as Prince and Princess Bernadotte (see English Wikipedia) and also gave them the hereditary titles of Count and Countess of Wisborg. Sigvard was a well-known industrial designer in his own right and created many silver items as well as famous housewares with appreciated modern shapes and forms. His father was King Gustav VI Adolf who reigned from 1950-1973, and the present King Carl XVI Gustaf is his nephew. He formally clarified in 1983 that he was to be called Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. The Royal Court of Sweden has never honored the announcement but many others have.
