Queen of Sweden. She was an extramarital daughter of King Harold IV Gilchrist of Norway, Fairhair Dynasty, and at about 16 was already the widow of a Swedish lord, Carl Sonnison, when she married the future King Magnus II around 1148. They were King and Queen only for the last year of Magnus's life, until he was killed in battle in 1161. Despite around 12 years of marriage, the royal couple had no known children. The widowed queen was soon married for a third time, to the famous Earl of the Swedish Realm, Birger the Smiler (Brosa) of the early Bielbo Dynasty. With him she had seven children. Several of them were also important to the history of her country, especially her daughter Queen Ingigarth, consort of King Sweartgar II. Widowed for a third time in 1202, Bridget spent her remaining six years at Riseberga Abbey for which the late Earl Birger had donated the property upon which it was established. At about 77, she had attained an unusually old age for her times when she passed away.
