Co. K, 69th. Regt. (Militia), was killed by "bushwhackers," May 10, 1863, near Fairmont, Clark Co., Mossouri along with
Lieut. Thomas S. Staples. Mussetter was the father of 10 children. On May 26, 1863, at Fairmont, a court martial of militia officers was held, and Samuel Dale and Aquilla Standiford were found guilty of the two killings and were executed May 26, 1863, at Fairmont.
